LAUTECH alumni commend Adiatu for donating 750LTH, 100KVA generator, others to Alma Mater

The Alumni Association of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has commended one of its versatile member, Dr Tayo Adeyemi Adiatu for pledging to donate 750 lecture theatre for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Adiatu was also commended for agreeing to furnish the just completed Alumni multipurpose hall, beginning with the donation of a 100KVA generator and the provision of 1000 fabric banquet seats for the building. 

The President of the Association, Mr Solomon Onilede, gave the commendation in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday. 

Onilede commended Adiatu for the significant donations to his Alma Mater, calling it a development that lived up to expectations. 

He explained that the act was a way for him to give back to his alma mater by making his personal contribution to the growth of the institution, and he urged other individuals of good will to follow in his footsteps. 

He equally tasked other alumni members to support students in the state’s elementary and middle schools as their own contributions to the improvement of education.

The president asserts that Dr. Adiatu has left his mark on history and that his deeds will be remembered by a thankful nation, government, and people.

Recall that Dr. Tayo Adeyemi Adiatu, a graduate of the LAUTECH Class 1995, was conferred the title of Doctor of Business Administration Honoris Causa by his alma mater last Saturday, making him the first alumnus to receive such a distinction.

Onilede remarked that Dr. Adiatu has consistently been that person whose drive to help others with the resources at his disposal and strength has no equal, adding that he still stands as one of their association’s greatest assets. 

“With people of Dr. Adiatu’s caliber who are so committed to using their resources to help the people, I have hope that our Alma Matter and association will continue to gain strength. 

“When association members also contribute their fair share, the institution would witness unprecedented achievements and greater successes in teaching, research and community development services.

“Given declining tax revenues and rising costs, the burden of funding education should be spread in the society. So, on this note, I’m therefore commending Dr Adiatu for his kind gesture and donations.

“He has etched his name in history, and a grateful state, government, and people will not forget his good deeds,” the statement read.
