BREAKING: Osun Gov’t approves residency training allowance, others for doctors 

The Osun State Government, Under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved residency training allowance and other packages for doctors in Osun.

The development is said to make resident medical doctors of the Osun University Teaching Hospital not to join the ongoing national strike. 

It was gathered that the 12 years demands of the DOS God’s were met after a closed door meeting with Governor Ademola Adeleke that lasted for some minutes. 

At the meeting attended by the leadership of the medical union and management of the teaching hospital, Governor Adeleke approved with immediate effect the payment of hazard allowance for clinical and non- clinical workers in the service of the teaching hospital.

The Governor also approved payment of a percentage of residency training allowance for residency doctors for the same hospital on an annual basis.

In response to Dr. John Ojo, President of the Medical Union,’s presentation, Governor Adeleke further ordered that all other operational concerns presented by the union be investigated right away.

However, he urged the medical staff to repay the state government’s kindness by recommitting themselves to providing care.

At the gathering, delighted resident doctors celebrated and thanked the governor for realizing a 12-year-old dream of theirs.
