Your election defeat’s inevitable for calling Iseyin a village, underserving LAUTECH— Oyo PDP tells Folarin

The Oyo state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 11 election over his reaction about his secret plan to shut down Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Iseyin campus.

The ruling PDP in Oyo state described Folarin as not being man enough to stand by his own words in a desperate bid to save his face from the severe backlash trailing his comment which condemned situating LAUTECH Satellite campus in Iseyin with a view to accelerate development in the area.

A press statement by the Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state, Akeem Olatunji on Tuesday evening and made available to journalists indicates that the three time senator has not only taken his desperation to a new height but has clearly shown that he could enter into any form of agreement even with the devil all in a bid to become governor at all cost.

While expressing gratitude to APC in the state for making Makinde their subject of unabated attacks, Olatunji said such frivolous attacks have culminated into political gains for the governor who is seeking a reelection for another term of office after an accomplishing one eventful term.

Olatunji who had earlier described Folarin’s criticism of Iseyin campus of LAUTECH as regrettable, shameful and insensitive of a man seeking to govern a whole state added that such statement also exposes Folarin as a sectional politician who should never be tested with the number one office in the state noting that such would be too risky for the people who are still recovering from the pain and hardship of the last APC administration.

The ruling PDP Spokesman reminded Folarin that no amount of denial or rebuttal can erase what has already become a public knowledge even as it portends great threat to the socioeconomic development of Iseyin and Oke-ogun zone at large.

“The truth of this whole electioneering season is that it has at the very least exposed some very desperate paperweight politician that have for a while been overrated one of which in particular is the governorship candidate of APC in Oyo state, Senator Teslim Folarin.

“Having been a three time senator, anyone would ordinarily thought he was politically savvy and popular with possible prospect for higher office in the future but this particular electioneering season has seriously exposed him as not only an opportunistic politician but a paperweight who has failed to leverage on the gains of his years at the red chambers of the national assembly.

“A man who could not even articulate a clear economic blueprints or plan for Oyo state let alone improve on the pacesetter’ fortune can not and should not be tested with such exalted office as the office of the governor, at least not in the possible near future until he has proven that he’s intellectually fit and capable to man the state because the risks associated with testing such a political neophyte especially at this critical time is better imagined.

“Folarin is a man who talks from both sides of his mouth and believes everything including the collective destiny of our people in Oyo state can be picked up like a wedding souvenir or ‘jagba’ as he openly professed to his political philosophy to getting power at all cost including wrecking havock on innocent electorates.

“This dangerously violent side of Folarin and his desperation to become governor at all cost was even made more evident during the APC primaries when his hitmen we’re all over town intimidating, harassing and threatening his then co-aspirants leading to gale of defection into Accord by all those who needed to run for their dear lives.

“We urge Folarin to save us the stress of further exposing himself in the media with his press statements as they reduce the strength of our political landscape in Oyo state to have political clowns and jesters as one of the contenders against Governor Seyi Makinde who has raised the bar of governance far above the class of Folarin and his boys in whatever is left of APC in Oyo state because March 11 is a date that Makinde’s victory will send Folarin to his political oblivion in perpetuity.” Olatunji
