NLC declares nationwide strike over naira scarcity, fixes date

All employees in the public sector are required to strike starting on Wednesday of the following week, according to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

On March 22, 2023, at a press conference held at Labour House in Abuja, Congress President Joe Ajaero made this revelation.

Also, he directed the affiliate unions that make up the NLC to prepare to picket all Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, branches around the nation.

He claimed that the instruction followed a one-week deadline for the CBN to make money (cash) available to the public.
