‘We are with you’- Oke-Ogun Supreme Council tell Bayo Lawal

The representatives of Oke-Ogun Supreme Council on Wednesday, paid a courtesy visit to the Oyo deputy governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal.

Mouthpiece NGR understands that the visit was to identify and express a show solidarity to the newly appointed deputy governor of the state.

In their words, they said: “We want to thank Mr Governor for appointing his deputy from Oke-Ogun despite what transpired between him and his former deputy governor. This further displayed unsolicited love the governor has for our region.

“We also commend you for being a good ambassador of Oke-Ogun region who has been deemed fit of a deputy governorship position.

They implored the Aare Bamofin of Kishi to ensure his office is used for the development of Oke-Ogun region and that the council is fully with him and Makinde-led administration.

The former Attorney-General of Oyo State appreciated the representatives for their visit and for identifying with him adding that God will continue to be with them.

“I specially thank all representatives from Oke-Ogun Supreme Council for thus august visit. This is more than a visit. I appreciate you for identifying with me.

“I recalled the moment I was announced as the new deputy governor, there were series of attacks and throw of tantrums, I wasn’t deterred as I know it was just a mere distraction.

“In my little capacity, I’ve been contributing my quota to Islam and I’m sure no one else can define the extent of one’s religious beliefs with their personal metrics.

“Today, I am the face of Islam in this government. I can assure you that I will defend whatever benefit due to Muslims. I want you to educate those sponsoring campaign of calumny to stop as there’s nothing we can achieve as a state from that.”- He said.
