Talent Hunt: Olorunsogo Chairman, Olayanju kicks off 3rd Orelope football competition
Executive Chairman, Olorunsogo local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju has kicked of the third edition of Orelope Football Competition, aimed at boosting sports development at the grassroots and discovering of talents at the local levels.
The competition, according to Hon Olayanju, was also initiated to bring the community together in love, especially within the youth using sports as a veritable tool in unifying different ages, groups and communities.
Hon. Olayanju shortly before the kick off said his administration will continue to find all means to bring the youths together, make them develop and showcase their talents in the world of sports, noting that “community whose youth love each other will grow faster”
Olayanju who is a stunt lover of sports, said it was important to build the sporting capacity of youths in the council and to prepare them for national and international competitions that will showcase Olorunsogo local government to the world.
He encouraged both administrators and teams in the competition to be of good conduct and shun violence on and off the pitch.
He also pleaded with the fans to allow the referees decide on what they know is right and avoid segregation, inequality, and favoritism of any team in the Competition.
He said “I believe we have talents among our youths and this is the time they can make use of it to become what they want in the Football game.”
Olayanju who is known for standard in administration, governance, community engagement and delivery of dividends of democracy because of his precedence in lawmaking as a former Oyo house of assembly member, pledged continued commitment to people oriented projects during his tenure.
