Omi-Tuntun 3.0 Students’ Army Takes Grassroots Drive To Ogbomoso North
As part of efforts to strengthen its structure ahead of the 2027 political season, the Omi-Tuntun 3.0 Students’ Army has taken its grassroots mobilisation drive to Ogbomoso North Local Government
The engagement, which brought together state and zonal leaders, local government coordinators, campus captains, equally featured the Best Legacy Students’ Union President, FOGSU National President, LAUTECH SUG President and members of the Central Executive Council.
The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing activities and mapping strategies to expand the group’s presence across campuses and boost student participation.
According to a statement made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Sunday, the team after its internal meeting met with Hon. B Square, Director-General, Youth Mobilisation, Ogbomoso North Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Council, where discussions centred on improving youth and student mobilisation.
The delegation also attended the APM Ogbomoso North meeting where it was formally introduced to party leaders and members. The team stressed the need to integrate the students’ structure into grassroots campaign activities and ensure student representatives are carried along.
The LG leadership pledged to work with the group and connect it with relevant stakeholders.
The team later paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Basorun Akinwale Akinwole (Wolekanle), at his residence.
The students appreciated him for his past support and formally introduced the leadership of the Army.
Akinwole commended the group for its commitment to the Omi-Tuntun agenda and assured them of continued support. He requested that designs for the proposed Omi-Tuntun 3.0 Students’ Army caps and shirts be forwarded to him, pledging to support their production.
He also noted the growing participation of students in the project, referencing the recent student concert in Ibadan, and praised the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, Hon. Victor Olojede, for creating the platform.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts by the Army to deepen stakeholder engagement and expand its network across local governments and campuses in Oyo State.
