SMATO’s Infrastructure Initiative Transforms Oko As Vehicles Now Access Newly Laid Asphalt Roads, Oko Water Supply Project Resurrected

In a landmark achievement, vehicles are now traversing the newly laid asphalt roads in Oko, the hometown of a former House of Representatives member.

This significant infrastructure development, facilitated by the current House of Representatives member for Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola Smato, marks a new era of connectivity and progress for the federal constituency.

The development has seen a massive turnout of residents expressing their gratitude and appreciation for the improved accessibility.

The project, which aligns with Governor Makinde’s infrastructural development agenda, aims to enhance the living standards of the people and ensure that communities are better off than before.

Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola, speaking on the success of the project, stated, “I am thrilled to see the positive impact this project is already having on our community. The ability for vehicles to now pass through these roads is a testament to our commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity in our constituency.”

Hon. Okunlola Rahamon Olayide, who represented Hon. Smato at the project site, reiterated the significance of this development.

He said: “This is a monumental step forward for Oko and its adjoining communities. The asphalt laying not only improves connectivity but also contributes to the overall economic and social welfare of our people.

“The project is set to expand further, with plans to extend the asphalt laying to Arolu in Surulere Local Government, and from Ajaawa to Odo Oba, ensuring even greater benefits for the region.”

Hon. Smato assured the residents that the ongoing construction will be completed to the highest quality standards, promising more infrastructural developments in the near future.

Residents have expressed their excitement and gratitude, describing Hon. Smato as a transformative leader who has brought tangible improvements to the constituency. “We have waited years for this development, and seeing vehicles now pass through our roads is a dream come true. Hon. Smato’s efforts have truly made a significant difference,” a resident commented.

This milestone underscores Hon. Smato’s dedication to delivering on his promises and his unwavering commitment to the development and welfare of his constituents.

Recall that SMATO had earlier taken the boldly step in completing the long-abandoned Oko Water Supply project.

The monumental initiative, initially undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources of Ogun-Osun Rivers Basin Development Authority, had suffered setback as a result of negligence of previous administrations.

It was gathered that the Federal Reps mobilized resources and engaged the project’s contractors to ensure its swift completion.
