Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood joins forces with Kwara Ministry of Environment and Kwara Environmental Protection Agency to mark World Clean Up Day 2023

Demonstrating their unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being, the Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood joined hands with the Kwara Ministry of Environment and the Kwara Environmental Protection Agency to commemorate World Clean Up Day 2023 in a remarkable display of solidarity.

The collaborative project, aptly named “Environmental Sanitation,” executed at Oyun Bridge along the Kwara Poly road in Ilorin on September 16th, 2023, drawing participation from volunteers, community members, and environmental enthusiasts alike.

World Clean Up Day is a global initiative aimed at rallying communities worldwide to take action against litter and pollution, working together to create a cleaner, healthier planet.

The Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood, in partnership with the Kwara Ministry of Environment and the Kwara Environmental Protection Agency, embraced this mission wholeheartedly.

During the event, Rotarian Yakub Salmat Abolore, President of the Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of collaborative efforts in addressing environmental challenges.

She stated, “This collaborative effort reflects our shared commitment to the well-being of our environment and community. We believe in the power of collective action to effect positive change.”

The “Environmental Sanitation” project saw Rotarians and host community memberd alike engaging in a variety of clean-up activities, including the removal of litter, debris, and waste from the Oyun Bridge area.

This hands-on approach demonstrated the club’s dedication to not only raising awareness about environmental issues but also actively contributing to solutions.

The collaboration between the Rotary Club of Ilorin Fate Neighbourhood, the Kwara Ministry of Environment, and the Kwara Environmental Protection Agency underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing environmental concerns.
