We’ve lost a political bravado, community leader in Saki west— Adamawa mourns Baba Nascotech
House of Reps’ candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Saki West/ Saki East and Atisbo Federal Constituency in the 2023 general election, Dr Salami lukman Adisa, has described the death of Alhaji Salami Aribidesi popularly known as Nascotech as a great loss to Oyo state and the people of Saki West in particular.
Baba Nascotech, a former caretaker chairman of Saki West Local Government during the late ADEBAYO Alao-Akala’s administration, was was a notable and prominent politician who contested for House of Assembly election under the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) against his supposed teacher from SDP, Social Democratic Party Chief E.A. Aibinu in the early 90s.
Adamawa, in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, sympathised with the deceased’s family, friends, political associates and urged them to take heart.
He noted that Saki West have lost a political bravado whose political strength and tentacles spread across the constituency and Oyo as a whole.
According to him, Baba Salami Nascotech was an Historian, business man, former local government chairman, community and religious leader and Ofcourse statesman indeed
The statement reads in part: “The passage of Baba Nascotech hurts me because of the critical role he is playing in Oyo PDP before his demise. My heart was filled with grief when I was informed about his death.
“This life is a stage where everyone plays his part and departs. This is an everlasting statement. Each time I listen and reflect on some phenomenon works of arts,or music of Ayinla Omowura, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and sermons of clergymen likes of Baba Agege, Sheikh Nurudeen Alawiye, I always remind myself that these individuals will never die. Their works live after them. Baba Salami Nascotech was an Historian, business man, former local government chairman, community and religious leader and Ofcourse statesman indeed.
“We learnt many things from Baba Nascotech and Baba Ikuogboogun of the blessed memory. If you are at the height of your powers, please be careful and use such powers wisely. Baba Nascotech our father, mentor and political leader. Rest in aljanah fridaus till the resurrection morning.”
