These are the rules we work by. If you think we have fallen short of them, tell us. The contact details are at the end of this page.
How We Report
We publish news we can stand behind. Key facts are checked before a story goes up. When a claim comes from a campaign or a press release, the story says so, and public officials are quoted in their own words.
Opinion pieces sit in the Opinion section and are labelled as opinion. They reflect the writer’s view, not the newsroom’s.
Corrections
When we get a fact wrong, we fix it on the same page and add a short note at the end of the story saying what changed. We do not quietly delete stories to hide a mistake.
To report an error, send us the link to the story and what you think is wrong. You can use the contact form and pick Correction, or message us on WhatsApp.
Independence and Advertising
Ads on MouthpieceNGR are always labelled Sponsored or Advertisement. That includes campaign posters from political sponsors. Advertisers do not decide what we cover or how we cover it, and they do not see stories before readers do.
Ownership and Funding
MouthpieceNGR is edited by Oyedeji Ahmed, its Editor-in-Chief, and has published since December 2018. The site is paid for by advertising, through Google ads and local sponsors.
Feedback and Tips
News tips, complaints and questions go to [email protected] or to our WhatsApp line on +234 913 509 5193. Someone on the desk reads every message. If you want to stay anonymous, say so and we will respect it.
