JUST IN: Shi’tes Forcefully Breaks Into National Assembly, Disrupts Activities

The shouts of ‘Allahu Akbar’ rented the air on Wednesday as some members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) unlawfully forced their way into the premises of the National Assembly.
Mouthpiece NG learnt that the aggrieved protesters gained entry into the complex after overpowering security agencies.

They advanced towards the second gate after broking the first gate of the legislative arm which lead to the chambers.
The IMN members were protesting the continuous detention of their leader, Ibrahim El-zakzaky who has been in the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS) since December 2015.
Mouthpiece NG recalls that the Shiites clashed with the security operatives last year in Abuja while protesting against the continued detention of their leader.
Mr El-Zakzaky was taken into custody after members of the IMN clashed with the military in 2015.
The development forced the deputy speaker of the house of representatives, Lasun Yusuf, who was presiding to adjourn plenary out of caution.
Yusuf said, ” he chose to adjourn plenary out of caution.
El-zakzaky is currently facing trial over “culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace”.
