World Teachers’ Day: wolekanle Salutes Oyo Teachers, Commends Makinde Over Workers’ Welfare
The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle has saluted teachers in Oyo State and across the globe for their immense contributions to education and the advancement of society.
Akinwole, in a message to mark the 2026 World Teachers’ Day, described teachers as critical to human development, noting that their dedication and commitment continue to shape future generations.
He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as increased attention to the welfare of teachers and other workers in the state, saying improved workers’ welfare would enhance productivity and service delivery.
The Commission chairman urged teachers to reciprocate the administration’s efforts by remaining committed to their duties and supporting initiatives aimed at improving education and workers’ welfare.
The APM chieftain also appealed to teachers and other stakeholders to sustain their support for the governor’s political agenda, including his reported presidential ambition and continuity in Oyo State, while urging citizens to make their electoral choices based on the records and programmes of candidates, including Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi.
World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on October 5, celebrates educators worldwide and highlights the vital role they play in helping students learn, develop and succeed.
