Adekanmbi, Running Mate Continue Thank-You Tour, Urge APM Unity in Ogbomosho Zone
The gubernatorial candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, and his running mate, Muftau Open Salawu, have continued their statewide thank-you tour with visits to party leaders, stakeholders and executives in Ogbomosho North, Ogbomosho South and Oriire Local Government Area, calling for unity and renewed commitment among party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the engagements, Adekanmbi expressed appreciation to party faithful for their support and confidence following his emergence as the APM governorship candidate, describing party members as the backbone of the party’s growing strength across the state.
He commended their dedication and sacrifices, urging members to remain united and work collectively towards strengthening the party’s structures across Oyo State.
According to him, the task of building a formidable political platform requires harmony, cooperation and a shared commitment to the party’s ideals.
Adekanmbi also restated his vision for Oyo State, saying his administration, if elected, would focus on inclusive governance, economic development, quality education, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure and improved social welfare.
He urged party leaders and supporters to remain steadfast in pursuing what he described as the collective goal of building a prosperous, secure and equitable state.
The APM flag bearer also expressed concern over the recent kidnapping incident in Oriire Local Government Area, describing the tragedy as another indication of the growing security challenges facing communities across the country.
He recalled his earlier visit to the area to commiserate with affected families shortly after the incident and again extended condolences to the family of the slain mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul and strength for his family.
Adekanmbi further prayed for the safe and immediate release of the pupils and teachers still in captivity, expressing hope that they would soon be reunited with their families unharmed.
Other APM candidates who accompanied the governorship candidate on the tour included Shina Peller, the party’s candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District; John Oke Abioye for Ogbomosho North, Ogbomosho South and Oriire Federal Constituency; Sanjo Adedoyin for Ogbomosho South State Constituency; Bunmi Oluranti for Ogbomosho North State Constituency; and Akinola Johnson Ogundele for Oriire State Constituency.
