They were Alao Stephen Olatunji, Ibrahim Mudashir Akanni; Shittu Jamiu Opeyemi; Adeleye Folaranmi; Onabisi Alade; Bolade Olatubosun; Abolade Oyekola; Akinsola Olusola and Ogunmola Sunday.

Following their deliberations, the members reached a resolution to suspend both the Chairman and his Vice.

The Legislative House cited the following grounds as the basis for its resolution concerning the Executive Chairman:

  • Alleged financial impropriety and concerns bordering on financial accountability
  • Alleged acts of misconduct
  • Negligence in the discharge of official responsibilities
  • Alleged involvement in anti-party activities

Regarding the Vice Chairman, the House explained that her suspension followed concerns arising from an accountability exercise during which she was requested to provide explanations on certain administrative and governance-related matters.

According to the House, the responses provided during the proceedings were considered unsatisfactory, particularly regarding her understanding of certain fundamental administrative procedures and responsibilities associated with her office.

Furthermore, in a move aimed at ensuring administrative continuity and preventing a vacuum in governance, the Legislative House recommended that the Leader of the House, Hon. Stephen Olatunji Alao, should continue with the administration of the Local Government, subject to the applicable legal and constitutional provisions.

The sitting concluded with nine Honourable Members maintaining a unanimous position on the resolutions reached,

This brings to three the number of local government chairmen suspended in Ogbomoso zone within 24 hours.
