Oke Ogun SDP returns to PDP after meeting with Oyo Deputy Gov

The Leadership of Social Democratic Party in the ten local governments of Oke Ogun area of Oyo State on Thursday held a crucial meeting with the State Deputy Governor, Barr Abdul Raheem Adebayo Lawal.

The group which comprises of SDP chairmen in all the ten local government areas announced their intention to dump their party for the People’s Democratic Party after a successful deliberation with Barr. Lawal at the Governor’s office, Ibadan.

The group which is a breakaway faction of the people’s Democratic Party prior to the 2023 general elections said their decision to return to the PDP was hinged on the wonderful achievements being recorded by Gov. Seyi Makinde’s administration in the state.

Their return, the group hinted was to contribute their quota to the growth of the PDP and the development of Oyo State.

Those in attendance at the meeting include Alh Azeez Ajinawo, Elisha Olanrewaju,Ismail Oke,Banmore Jacob and Alh.Akeeb Elediko.

Others were Ojediran Michael,Ahmed Ejalonibu,Alawiye Musodiq, Somope Mudathir, Oshinkayode Emmanuel and Mustapha Ibrahim.

While receiving the defectors, the Deputy Governor, Bar. Lawal commended the group for their courage to return to their erstwhile party.

According to him, the decision was a wise one in view of the fact that PDP has continued to wax stronger and it is the darling of all as a result of unprecedented achievements of the present administration in the state.

He assured them that equal opportunity shall be extended to all members irrespective of their status.
The DG promised to intimate the governor with their decision to return to base.
