Oyo govt pledges more developmental strides in Oyo Zone

   …to rehabilitate Ilora-Jare Emily, Akinmorin-Durbar roads soon

Oyo State Government has pledged to provide more developmental strides to the people of Oyo zone under the present administration of Omituntun 2.0.

The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Professor Musibaudeen  Babatunde, made the promise on behalf of the state government,at the Stakeholders Consultative Meeting on Year 2024 Budget for Oyo State, held at Atiba Hall in  Atiba Local Government Secretariat , Oyo.

The Commissioner explained that under Omituntun 1.0, Oyo Zone benefitted massively from the infrastructural achievements of the government such as the 34km Oyo-Iseyin road, Upgrade of Fashola Farm Estate, the Independent Power Project Mini Grid that is ongoing, and a host of others. 

He therefore promised that more developmental strides are still coming to the zone under the Omituntun 2.0 Roadmap for Accelerated Development, adding that all roads in the Oyo Zone which the people have requested to be rehabilitated will be taken as a priority after the rainy season.

He added that most of the needs of the people have been captured under the SAFER Oyo Programme which is ongoing, promising that the Silo project will be completed soon for the storage of farm produce.

In his remarks, the Director -General, Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA), Hon. Busoye Ogunlade, explained that Ilora-Jare Emily road, Akinmorin-Durbar road, have been measured for rehabilitation work, which will commence immediately after the rainy season.

He therefore called on the people to desist from dumping refuse in the drainage systems.

 The event had in attendance the Oyo Mesi, led by High Chief Yusuf Akinade , the Asorun of Oyo and stakeholders from the four local governments which comprises  Atiba, Afijio ,Oyo East and Oyo West.
