I Lost Sexual Function After Brain Surgery – Julius Agwu

Nigerian comedian and actor, Julius Agwu, has revealed that he lost sexual function after undergoing brain surgery in the United States in 2015.

Agwu made the disclosure during a recent episode of the Beer Parlour Talk Show uploaded on Saturday, while reflecting on the physical and personal effects of the surgery.

Asked whether the brain condition or the procedure affected other parts of his body, including sexual function, he said: “After I do am, prick no dey work again now. He no dey work.”

The conversation thereafter focused on the part of the brain affected by the procedure and the link between nerves and the brain, with other guests, including Mr Patrick, explaining the possible connection to the effect Agwu described.

The comedian underwent surgery in 2015 after doctors discovered three tumours in his brain, one reportedly the size of a golf ball.

Agwu has previously spoken about the health challenge and its impact on his career and personal life, but his latest comments revealed another effect of the surgery he had not discussed as prominently before.

During the programme, he also reflected on his contribution to the Nigerian comedy industry, particularly his role in developing music-comedy.

“Music comedy na me form am o, that is to tell you how my brain dey work,” he said.

He became emotional while discussing his career and what he described as betrayal and abandonment by people close to him.

“God wey I dey serve, anybody wey get hand for wetin happen to me. I go dey look. My friends deserted me. They stopped talking to me, many of them. It is well,” he said.
