The wives of Commissioners in Oyo state on Saturday paid a congratulatory visit to the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal, over the victory of March 18 governorship election.
They gathered at the deputy governor’s Bashorun residence at precisely 6 o’clock in the evening, led by their Cordinator, Alhaja Olatubosun Adenike, the wife of the Oyo Commissioner for Information.
She was in company of Mrs. Kudirat Abdul Raheem, the spouse of the commissioner for education, Mrs. Adebisi Adewumi, the spouse of the commissioner for agriculture, Mrs. Olayiwola Moninuola, the spouse of the commissioner for land, and DR. Oluranti Sangodoyin, the spouse of the commissioner for works and transportation.
Speaking, the cordinator, Alhaja Adenike, disclosed that the purpose of their visit was to celebrate the deputy governor’s birthday anniversary with his family and to break the Ramadan fast with the deputy governor and his wife.
She added that they are also making the visit to congratulate Bayo Lawal as the newly elected deputy governor following the overwhelming victory for Governor Makinde in the March 18th governorship election.
“We are here to break our fast with daddy and mummy and to also congratulate our father on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
“We pray Almighty Allah will continue to bless him and give him and his wife long life and prosperity to enjoy the fruit of their labor.”
Appreciating them for their visitation, Mrs. Ajibola Lawal, who spoke on her husband’s behalf, also expressed her gratitude for the several gifts they provided.
In her words, “On behalf of my husband, I have to thank you for your visit. I should also congratulate one of you whose birthday falls on the same day as my husband.
“I appreciate you all. Thank you very much ma. May God continue to be with you”.
