VIDEO: Makinde attends funeral of Chief imam of Oyo land

The Chief Imam of Oyo land, Sheik Imam Mas’ud AbdulGaniy Ajokidero III, who died in the early hours of Thursday, has been laid to rest, MOUTHPIECE NGR reports.

Governor Seyi Makinde, who was represented by his deputy, Chief Bayo Lawal, participated in the fidau prayer immediately after the deceased was buried in his residence near the intersection of the Ilora Road. 

The deputy governor was in company of Oyo Commissioner for Budget, Chairman Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing), Personal assistant to Governor Makinde, Alhaji Akeem Azeez and SA Islamic, Imam Abdul-Rasheed Abdul- Azeez. 

He expressed his sadness over the demise of the Chief Imam, saying that the death was a huge loss to the people of the state.

He prayed to Allah to grant him Aljanah Firdaus and also grant the Muslim Ummah, the family of Chief Imam and the entire Oyo community the fortitude to bear the loss of the revered Islamic leader.

In attendance were prominent Islamic clerics including the Turaki Adini of Oyo State, Mogaji Adanla and several imams in the state.
