The leader of Ogbomoso North local government in Oyo state, Honourable Olasunkanmi Alabi has been impeached by members of the legislative council.

The motion to impeach Hon. Alabi was made during the council’s plenary session by Hon. Niyi Oyeniran and seconded by Hon. Olutade Gabriel.

The impeached leader was accused of being incompetent, stealing money, betraying trust, and showing up constantly late.

The impeached leader was also accused of using his position of authority improperly and of assaulting and upsetting people in public.

After being found guilty of impeachment, Hon. Olakunle Popoola of the Sabo Taraa ward was chosen to lead the House.

According to information obtained by MOUTHPIECE NGR, the Ogbomoso North legislative council members have postponed their meeting until next Thursday after fleeing with the mace to an unidentified place.

In his reaction, Olasunkanmi Alabi, the impeached House leader for Ogbomoso North local government, insisted that he still held that position despite not being aware of the impeachment.

Hon. Alabi refuted all of the charges brought against him by other council members, claiming that they were really aiming to impeach the chairman of the local government.

The House leader emphasized that the members were accusing him of protecting the Council Chairman from being impeached and that the Chairman had failed to include them in the administration of the local government.
