PHOTOS: We have lost a selfless king— Oyo Govt mourns Aseyin of Iseyin

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal has commiserated with the good people of Iseyin over the passing of their illustrious King, Oba Adekunle Salawudeen, whose reign he described as a peaceful one. 

Barr. Bayo Lawal, who led top government functionaries on a condolence visit to the palace of late Aseyin of Iseyin land, Oba (Dr) Salahudeen  Adekunle Oloogun ebi on Monday, said that the stupor of death is real, advising everyone to do good. 

According to him, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, should have been here himself, but he’s currently on official duties outside the country. He informed me on phone about the development.”

Bayo Lawal described the passing as a painful loss to the Aseyin-in-Council, the royal family and the entire community as well as the traditional Council in Oke-Ogun and the state at large. 

Our revered monarch died at a time when his wise counselling is much needed for the continuous development of Oyo state under Makinde led administration. 

“It’s no gainsaying that the monarch lived a selfless life and his memories would linger on for peace, enduring stability, harmony and monumental developments attained during his reign.

The seasoned lawyer however prayed to Almighty God to forgive the deceased and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Among those present at the burial include Oyo State Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi; Head of Service, Alhaja Agboola; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters, Bayo Lawal; Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Oni, Commissioner for Establishment, Siju Lawal, and host of others.
