The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, has resigned his position, according to Channels Television.
The station made public some sources as saying that Muhammad resigned on Sunday night.
It was reported that the CJN had cited ill-health as the reason for his resignation.
According to the television station, arrangements are ongoing to appoint the next most senior justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olukayode in an acting capacity.
According to reports, there will be a formal announcement very soon.
