2027: Makinde/Adekanmbi Youth Directorate Assures Student Leaders Coalition of Support
The Director of Youth Mobilisation for the Makinde/Adekanmbi 2027 Campaign, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, has assured the Coalition of Past and Present Student Leaders of the full support of the directorate.
Bolarinwa gave the assurance while receiving representatives of the coalition, saying the directorate would work closely with the association and provide the necessary support to strengthen its mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 campaigns.
He commended the student leaders for coming together under a common platform, describing the initiative as a significant step towards harnessing the energy, experience and organisational capacity of former and current student leaders for political and societal development.
Bolarinwa said youth and student leaders remain critical stakeholders in any meaningful political mobilisation and pledged the directorate’s full backing for the association.
He said the directorate would continue to create an enabling platform for young people and organised groups to participate actively in the political process, adding that their contributions would be valuable to the campaign of Governor Seyi Makinde and Bimbo Adekanmbi ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Coalition of Past and Present Student Leaders Association (COPPSLA), Comrade Azeez Sharafudeen, popularly known as Pa Biafra, said the coalition’s position was informed by its belief in the programmes and agenda of the Makinde-led administration.
According to him, the coalition’s support aligns with Governor Makinde’s “Reset Nigeria” agenda, which he said focuses on economic transformation, education reform, security and youth development.
Sharafudeen said the association, comprising present and former student leaders, is prepared to mobilise its members and networks across the state and beyond towards achieving its political objectives ahead of 2027.
He appreciated the Directorate of Youth Mobilisation for its commitment to partnering with the association, describing the assurance of support as an indication of the importance attached to youth and student leadership in the political process.
The coalition had earlier unveiled its platform and declared support for Governor Seyi Makinde and Bimbo Adekanmbi ahead of the 2027 elections, pledging to deploy its structures and experience for the campaign.
