BREAKING: Tension In Nigeria Prisons Service As Boss Tenure Expires

There’s high tension and anxiety in the Nigeria Prisons as the service term for the controller General of prisons, CGP Jafaru Ahmed, ends today, July 22, 2019.

Some within the service are wondering what would happen in the next 24 hours as many were reported to be kicking  against the purported tenure extension of the prisons boss who’s been accused of age falsification and multiple allegations.
Jafaru, the Controller General of prison, was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on 17th May 2016, to replace Dr.Peter Ekpendu, who retired from the prison service on 17 may 2016.

According to report, the 60- year old kebbi State-born prisons Chief is due for retirement from the services today, July22, having enlisted into the service and falsified his age and altered his date of  first appointment to 1984.
Sources within the service told Mouthpiece NG that Mr Jafar attainment of the mandatory retirement age of 60 years of service in the prisons service comes July 22, 2019.

He said the CGP while addressing the staff this morning said he has been given a year extension which is unknown to the presidency and is against the ethics of the services.
He alleged that the former minister, Dambazau collected almost a billion from him for the extension.

Another source at the presidency said the president is not aware of his extension and any moment from now president muhammadu buhari will appoint the substantive CGP for Nigeria prison.

“CGP said the interior ministry extends his tenure by a year. Is the interior ministry supersede the presidency, he asked rhetorically.
