TNA: Tested Capacity, Fresh Energy for Oyo Federal Constituency
At just 31, Barr. Seun Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, TNA, _Omo Oloore_, made history in 2019 as Commissioner for the newly created Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Oyo State — the first of its kind.
His appointment was a test of capacity, vision and competence. He passed it.
If we are fair in acknowledging Governor Seyi Makinde’s achievements during Omituntun 1.0, then Ashamu’s contributions, especially in the energy sector, cannot be overlooked. He was a key driver of the _Light Up Oyo_ project and several interventions that delivered practical benefits to communities and public institutions across the state.
His service did not stop at Energy. TNA later served as Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, and as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning. The record shows versatility, competence, and a strong grasp of governance.
One clear example is the solar power intervention in 21 Primary Health Centres across Oyo State, including Oyo East, Oyo West, Afijio and Atiba. At Kolobo PHC in Oyo West, the project powers essential medical equipment — vaccine refrigerators, ultrasound machines — and lights up delivery rooms. That is what purposeful public service looks like: identify a problem, provide a solution, and leave a lasting impact.
*Beyond Projects: The Case for Representation*
It is only fair to acknowledge the projects and interventions facilitated by the incumbent in Oyo Federal Constituency.
But representation must go beyond project facilitation. It must include effective advocacy, stakeholder engagement, youth and women empowerment, job creation, education, healthcare and human capital development.
This is where TNA offers a compelling alternative. He is not coming to learn governance. He has already been tested. He has managed three critical ministries, contributed to policy formulation and implementation, and delivered results.
At under 40, he combines the energy of a new generation with years of executive experience and a clear desire to build a lasting legacy.
*2027: A Choice About the Future*
The 2027 election should be about the future of Oyo Federal Constituency. We can acknowledge what has been achieved, while still demanding more.
TNA represents the opportunity to combine youth, experience, brilliance, fresh ideas and purposeful representation. He understands governance from practical experience and is ready to take that experience to the Federal House to advocate for the people and connect Oyo to greater opportunities.
Oyo Federal Constituency deserves capacity.
It deserves fresh energy.
It deserves representation that understands that public office is an opportunity to serve and to leave a legacy.
A Rep under 40 with this level of executive experience? The time is now.
