Makinde Not Distracted By Side Issues, Focused On Resetting Nigeria — GSM Advocates
The *GSM Advocates*, a foremost socio-political group, says *Governor Seyi Makinde* remains focused on his mission to reset Nigeria, despite distractions.
Speaking on *Wednesday* in Ibadan, the group’s *Deputy Director, Bashorun Saintabey*, said Makinde is not swayed by political noise and is dedicated to delivering people-centered governance.
Saintabey stated that the *seven years of the Makinde administration* in Oyo State provide a practical template for national development.
_“Governor Seyi Makinde is not distracted by spontaneous issues or political noise. He is firmly focused on the bigger picture, to reset Nigeria and place it on the path of sustainable development, accountability and people-centered governance,”_ he said.
According to him, GSM Advocates is mobilizing support for leaders with *verifiable track records*, and Makinde’s performance in Oyo offers Nigerians a glimpse of what is possible nationally.
*Key Achievements Highlighted*
*Infrastructure & Economy*: Construction and rehabilitation of roads across the state’s three senatorial districts to link agricultural communities to markets. Ongoing *110MW Independent Power Project* in Ibadan for stable electricity, and development of *agribusiness hubs in Fasola and Eruwa* attracting private investment.
*Education*: Renovation of *over 500 public schools*, recruitment of thousands of teachers, and *692 education officers* to address manpower gaps.
*Healthcare*: Establishment of *at least one functional PHC in each of the 351 wards*, upgrade of *Adeoyo and other general hospitals*, and expansion of health insurance for vulnerable citizens through *OYSHIA*.
*Security & Youth*: Launch of the *Amotekun Security Network*, procurement of patrol vehicles, *N3.5 billion Youth in Agribusiness loan scheme*, and grants to *over 10,000 MSMEs* for job creation.
*Governance*: Financial autonomy for local governments, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, and transparent budget processes.
_“These are not campaign promises. They are verifiable projects on ground. If this Oyo model is scaled nationally, Nigeria will witness real development, job creation, improved security and better welfare for citizens,”_ Saintabey said.
The Deputy Director urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to *prioritize competence and track record* ahead of the *2027 general elections*. He directed GSM Advocates chapters nationwide to begin *grassroots sensitization* on the need for focused leadership.
