Bandits Kill Village Head Of Galla In Borgu Emirate, Sibling of Tinubu’s Minister

Suspected bandits have killed the *Village Head of Galla* in *Borgu Emirate, Niger State*, following an attack on his palace.

The incident occurred on *Monday, August 24, 2026*.

Sources said the traditional ruler was killed after warning the bandits to stay away from his community. The warning was allegedly taken as an insult, prompting the attackers to storm his palace.

The deceased is the brother of *Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi*, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security.

When contacted, *SP Wasiu Abiodun*, spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, said he would provide details. 

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been issued by the police.

The killing has heightened concerns over the security situation in parts of Borgu Emirate, which has witnessed an escalation of banditry and other security threats in recent times.
