Appeal Court Voids Order Proscribing ADC, Accord, Others
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has voided the judgment of the Federal High Court which ordered the proscription of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Accord Party and three others.
In a judgment delivered on Tuesday, the appellate court held that the Forum of Former Legislators, which filed the deregistration suit, lacked the locus standi to institute the matter.
The judgment delivered by Justice Peter Odo Lifu was consequently set aside and thrown out.
The Court of Appeal panel, led by Justice Abba Bello, also awarded a cost of ₦1 million against the former legislators that filed the case.
