How GTBank Debited N100,000 Without My Consent— Lagos Man Says 

Lagos resident Clement Oku says N100,000 was debited from his Guaranty Trust Bank account without his authorization on May 22, the second time in three years his funds have gone missing.

Oku told FIJ he received a notification of the unauthorized transaction while preparing for bed. He said he had not shared his account details with anyone, contrary to GTBank’s claim during a similar incident in 2024.

“I did not do anything but I saw N100,000 leave my account for no reason of mine,” Oku said. “When I went to the bank to complain, the staff members said I would have to wait for eight working days.”

In February 2024, Oku said N310,000 was withdrawn from his account while he was at a GTBank branch in Alausa to make a withdrawal. The bank alleged he had shared his details, a claim he denied.

In early May, he told FIJ he was considering abandoning efforts to recover the N310,000 after more than two years of seeking a refund.
