Oyo Deputy Gov’s Wife, Ajibola Lawal Celebrates Ogunmola’s Retirement from FIRS

*…Says Retirement is an Opportunity, Not a Disease*

The wife of the Oyo State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal, has congratulated Alhaji Ogunmola Mudasiru Alabi on his retirement from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), emphasizing that retirement is an opportunity for new beginnings, not a disease. 

Speaking at a retirement party held at the UI conference hall, Mrs. Lawal, accompanied by several dignitaries, including Yeye Fauzat Aderibigbe, Mrs Bello Aderomke, Mrs Adejoke Adegbayi also known as Ajoki Mama, lauded Mr. Ogunmola as an achiever, Marriage counselor, and a significant contributor to the lives of many, particularly within the Kishi community. 

While disclosing that she retired over 15 years ago, the wife of the Deputy Governor noted that retirement offers a valuable period to focus on oneself, serve humanity, and connect with one’s creator.

She prayed God to grant him long life and prosperity, and congratulated the people of Kishiland on the successful celebration of his retirement.

Earlier, the event’s chairman, Professor Soliu Adelabu, highlighted Mr. Ogunmola’s extensive academic and professional journey, describing him as an inspiring figure who accommodates everyone. 

Many attendees echoed these sentiments, portraying Ogunmola as an exceptionally helpful, open-hearted, and accommodating individual who has made substantial contributions to Kishi. 

Prayers were offered for his continued long life, prosperity, and a fulfilling retirement, including a special one from his wife, Alhaja Kafayat who described her husband as a blessing to the family.

Alhaji Ogunmola Mudasiru Alabi, born in the mid-60s, boasts a distinguished career marked by significant achievements at the FIRS. 

A Fellow of both the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, he held various key positions, consistently exceeding targets and receiving commendations. 

Beyond his professional life, Ogunmola has been instrumental in facilitating educational admissions, providing employment opportunities, supporting small businesses, and offering pro bono tax services to his community. 

He is recognized as a farmer, administrator, mediator, and problem-solver who served with dedication. 

The celebration was graced by notable figures, including the Irepo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Olayiwola TT, and many members of the Kishi community.
