Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (SMATO) Flags Off Rural Road Projects Across Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency

…As Communities Celebrate New Era of Rural Connectivity and Agricultural Development

The people of Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency in Oyo State have once again witnessed another remarkable stride in grassroots development as the official flag-off ceremony for the construction and opening of strategic rural access roads was held in Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Areas.

The intervention, facilitated by the distinguished lawmaker representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (SMATO), is being executed under the auspices of the Federal Co-operative College, Orji River, an institution under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in collaboration with Musthas Integrated Concepts Limited.

The road projects are aimed at improving rural transportation, boosting agricultural activities, easing movement of goods and services, and enhancing socio-economic growth within the benefiting communities.

The flagged-off projects include:

Surulere Local Government Area
Road 1: Iyana Agric – Ileodun/Alamunla Road (6KM)
Road 2: Iregba – Alayin Road (2KM)

Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area
Road 3: Iyana Methodist – Oloko Village Road (7KM)

Speaking during the ceremony held at Iregba, community leaders, residents, farmers, youths, and stakeholders expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola for his unwavering commitment to infrastructural development and rural transformation across the constituency.

They noted that the roads, upon completion, will significantly reduce transportation challenges faced by farmers and traders, while also improving access to markets, schools, healthcare centres, and neighboring communities.

In his remarks, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (SMATO) reaffirmed his dedication to delivering impactful and people-oriented projects that directly improve the living conditions of constituents. He emphasized that rural development remains a critical component of sustainable economic growth and food security.

According to him, “Development must not be concentrated only in urban centres. Our rural communities deserve quality infrastructure that can support farming, commerce, education, and better living standards. These roads will open up our communities for greater economic opportunities,” he stated.

Hon. SMATO further assured constituents that more developmental projects and empowerment initiatives would continue to reach every ward and community within the federal constituency.
