Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Distributes Food Palliatives For Sixth Time To Cushion Economic Hardship In Ibadan North

The Member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, *Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN)*, has distributed food palliatives to residents of the constituency for the sixth consecutive time, as part of ongoing efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship on vulnerable households.

The latest distribution was held at the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat, where residents and party faithful from across the federal constituency turned out in large numbers to benefit from the initiative.

Speaking on the exercise, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the lawmaker said the palliative programme had become an intentional intervention aimed at reaching people directly at a time when many families are struggling to meet their basic needs.

According to him, the initiative is not being driven by political clout or the desire for publicity, but by a genuine commitment to support the less privileged and help reduce hunger in the constituency.

“The food palliative distribution has become intentional at this time. It is not about clout or politics; it is about coming to the rescue of the less privileged and ensuring that hunger is drastically reduced among our people,” he said.

He added that the current economic situation in the country has left many people stranded, making it necessary for elected representatives to provide practical support to constituents within their capacity.

The media aide stressed that Hon. Oyekunle had deliberately ensured that the food items were distributed directly to residents without political discrimination.

“The lawmaker has taken it upon himself to ensure that food support gets directly to residents who need it, without political discrimination. This initiative is for the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency irrespective of their political affiliations,” he stated.

He further assured residents that the palliative programme was not a one-off intervention, noting that Hon. Oyekunle remains committed to sustaining it as part of his people-oriented representation.

The aide also urged beneficiaries and residents of the constituency to reciprocate the lawmaker’s efforts by supporting the *Allied Peoples Movement, APM*, at the polls, saying continued political support would help attract more dividends of democracy to the constituency.

The distribution attracted a large turnout of residents and party faithful, many of whom expressed appreciation for the initiative and the direct approach adopted in reaching constituents.

Some beneficiaries described the gesture as timely and impactful, saying it had provided much-needed relief to households battling rising food prices.

Since the commencement of the palliative programme, Hon. Oyekunle has consistently reached thousands of households across Ibadan North, reinforcing his commitment to grassroots welfare and responsive representation.
