Lawmaker representing the people of Ibadan South East/North East in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has stated that he would continue to fulfill his promises to the constituents.
Agboworin, who is the Chairman of the House, Committee on Narcotic Drugs, stated this in Abuja, while interacting with newsmen, noting that he would continue to represent them well in the green chamber, adding that their welfare would be his top priority.
Agboworin revealed that with the overwhelming support given to him by the people of his constituency, he would ensure he speaks and defend them as well as bring their development needs into the front burner of legislative business.
The lawmaker insisted that as a man who stands on integrity and honour, having received much honour and respect from his constituents, he would honour them by ensuring that whatever is due to them is not denied them.
Agboworin, in most fora, where he bared his mind, had emphasized that he is not after personal aggrandizement but to be a good and effective representative of the good people of Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency.
“I only have interest in building a future for the people of my constituency. During the campaign for my second term election into the hallowed green chamber, because of the trust they have for me and how much they honour me, they voted massively for me and still standing by me.
“I need to continue to reciprocate that gesture of theirs by honoring their needs too because that is the way I think things should be done. My being in politics is not for personal enrichment but to ensure the people live a meaningful life; give them a sense of belonging and let the dividends of democracy get to them,” Agboworin stated.
