Tears as 3 Ogbomoso traditional rulers die in motor accident
Motor accident on Friday claimed the lives of three traditional rulers in the Oriire local government area of Ogbomoso zone, Oyo state.
The rulers were attending the mother of a brother traditional ruler, Oloolo of Oolo Oba Oyebunmi Ajayi, who was also a traditional ruler.
The three Obas from the Oriire local government that passed away are Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula, and Alayetoro of Ayetoro. As at the time this report was filed, it was not possible to determine their names.
It was gathered that they were on their way to the party when their car collided with an approaching truck.
While Olodogbo’s immediate death was confirmed, it is unclear at what point the two others gave up the ghost.
Their bodies are kept in the hospital’s mortuary, according to a source at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso who confirmed the incidence.
The fourth injured person is reportedly receiving treatment in the hospital, “but he doesn’t look like an Oba,” the source added.
