Oyo LG Commission Chairman, Wolekanle, Commended For Contributions To NULGE
The Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Bashorun Akinwole Akinwale Solomon (Wolekanle), has been commended for his immense contributions to the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oyo State Chapter, and the entire local government workforce.
The commendation was given by the President of the Union, Comrade Ayobami Olusegun Adeogun, at the Union’s first leadership training workshop sponsored by the Local Government Service Commission.
The workshop was held at the Local Government Staff Training School, Local Government House, Secretariat, Ibadan.
According to Comrade Adeogun, NULGE Oyo State has always enjoyed fruitful consultations with Bashorun Akinwole, which have been highly beneficial to the welfare and career progression of all local government employees in the State.
Appreciating the Commission for sponsoring the capacity-building workshop themed “The Making of an Effective Union Leader in the 21st Century,” Comrade Adeogun stressed that by investing in the training of union leaders, the Commission has demonstrated a clear understanding that effective leadership is indispensable to industrial harmony, improved productivity, and efficient service delivery at the grassroots level.
In his remarks, Bashorun Akinwole commended the NULGE leadership for their commitment to the advancement of local government administration through their mutual relationship with the Commission for the betterment of all.
“We are not asking for too much from the workforce, but efficiency and dedication to duty. However, under this present NULGE leadership, we have seen a lot of improvement and positive changes in the functionality of council workers. We still believe you can do better,” the Chairman stated.
Bashorun Akinwole further assured that the Commission will continue to partner with NULGE in ensuring optimal functionality of staff at the local government level.
In recognition of the Chairman’s remarkable achievements and commitment to the values of the system, NULGE presented a gigantic portrait gift to Bashorun Akinwole.
On the entourage of the Chairman were the Permanent Secretary, LGSC, Pastor Adeola Omoyeni Oduola; the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Adedayo Faith Solaja; and the Deputy Director, Administration and General Services (DDAGS), Alhaji Olalekan Jelili Alade.
