Portable bows to pressure, surrenders self to police in Ogun, over physical assault

Habib Okikiola, a popular Nigerian singer professionally known as Portable has surrendered himself to the Ogun State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

This came following a police order that he should submit himself to the police, over a physical assault on a young man identified as DJ Chicken, in a viral video.

MOUTHPIECE NGR had earlier reported that the Ogun police command has ordered the popular hip-hop musician, Habeeb Okikiola professionally addressed as Portable, to immediately appear at the nearest police post or be arrested by the police.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, revealed that Portable “has reported at the command’s headquarters Eleweran on Wednesday 29th of June 2022.”

He narrated that the Zazu singer reached Eleweran at 5pm.

He was accompanied by his father and his manager, after which the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole took him to the Public Complaints Bureau office.

The image maker of the police in the state, said Portable ”was interrogated about his role in the assault meted out to the boy in the video” at the Public Complaints Bureau office.

He said Portable has been set free to a reliable surety as his offence was a bailable one.

He added that the strike action which was ongoing in the state has affected the courts.

”Meanwhile, the assaulted victim has also been invited to come state his own side of the story to enable the command complete her investigation on time,” Oyeyemi explained.
