Olabiyisi, Others place LAUTECH 11th in AD Scientists Index ranking 

Lecturers of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, have been ranked among the best scientists in world by Alper-Doger Scientific Index.

Their performances placed the institution on 11th position in a data obtained from the World Scientist and University Rankings via https://www.adscientificindex.com. 

Public Relations Officer, Lekan Fadeyi said the ranking was made by AD Scientific Index Limited, a leading global ranking body based in Turkey.

LAUTECH was ranked as a leader among its peers in the production of researchers, Fadeyi said.

He said information accessed on the website of the organisation equally ranked the university as the 74th in Africa, based on the performance of the university’s scholars.

According to the ranking, Prof Agbaje Lateef an alumni of the University is the 1st in medical and health scentist/microbiology Olugbenga Solomon Bello, the 2nd in Natural Sciences/Chemical Sciences is also a product of the Institution while Prof. Stephen Olatunde Olabiyisi a senior lecturer at the University is the 1st in Engineering & Technology /Computer Science in the University and 4th in Nigeria.

The AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index), is a ranking and analysis system based on the scientific performance and the added value of the scientific productivity of individual scientists.

Unlike other systems that provide evaluations of journals and universities, AD provides rankings of institutions based on the scientific characteristics of affiliated scientists.

Also, “AD Scientific Index” is the first and only study that shows the total and the last five-year productivity coefficients of scientists based on the h-index and i10 index scores and citations in Google Scholar. In other words, the “AD Scientific Index” provides both the academic ranking and analysis results.

Using a total of nine parameters, the

AD Scientific Index shows the ranking of an individual scientist by 12 subject including, Agriculture & Forestry, Arts, Design and Architecture, Business & Management, Economics & Econometrics, Education, Engineering & Technology, History, Philosophy, Theology, Law / Law and Legal Studies, Medical and Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Others).

Recall that Mouthpiece NGR had early this year reported that Professor Abass Olajire, a lecturer at the department of Pure and Applied Chemistry in the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso was ranked number 3 in the top 10 world class scientists in the country.

The top 10 Nigerians on the word’s top 2% scientists include Gureje, O. [UI], Oguzie, E. [FUTO], Olajire, A. [LAUTECH], Olusanya, B. [CHSI] Ezugwu, E. [Air force], Oboh, G. [FUTA] Lawal, O. S [FUOYE], Farombi, E. O [UI], Owolabi, M. [UI] Alaneme, K. K [FUTA].

LAUTECH Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mojeed Liasu, commended the scholars for their greater heights.

Liasu expressed delight that the scholars had consistently remained among top most 100 scholars in Nigeria on the rankings from different organisations.
