APC Names LAUTECH Alumnus, Sonayon-James Deputy Governorship Candidate in Lagos*
MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that the All Progressives Congress has named Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, a LAUTECH alumna, as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 Lagos State election.
Sonayon-James, an indigene of Badagry, will run alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
A sustainability expert and business executive, she currently serves as APC Deputy State Chairman in Lagos. She previously served as the party’s State Assistant Woman Leader.
Sonayon-James has also served as Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Social Services in Badagry West Local Council Development Area. She is known for grassroots political engagement and advocacy for women’s participation in governance.
She holds a master’s degree in Social Work from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, and a degree in Business and Human Resources Management from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.
Outside politics, she has worked in human resources, logistics and sustainability management. She is the Chief Executive Officer of DGS Chauffeurs and Logistics.
Her nomination places her on the APC ticket with Hamzat ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Lagos.
