Covid-19: Davido cancels DMW ‘Live In Concert’ in December

Davido has announced the cancellation of the forthcoming DMW Live In Concert in December.

Due to the prevalent pandemic Covid-19, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) would no longer be having its planned all-star concert.

The FEM singer made the announcement via his social media on the 16th of December 2020 with reasons being the safety of fans who have expressed their fear concerning COVID-19.

Some days ago, Davido announced that his record label would be having an end of year concert at the Eko Hotel & Suites on December 28.

He wrote on his personal Instagram page ;

Following increased and overwhelming concerns with the rise of Covid-19 cases in Lagos, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming ‘Davido Presents DMW Live In Concert’ scheduled to take place on Dec 28th. The health and well-being of our fans, employees and artists is of paramount importance so whilst we are disappointed, we know it is the right thing to do. Thank you to everyone that purchased tables. Your support brought us way closer to sold out status than we expected in a very uncertain time! We look forward to bringing you a DMW live in concert in the very near future. In the meantime, stay safe, sanitised and socially distanced. Thank you for your understanding and Merry Christmas in advance!

The official statement from the management was;

Due to fears/scares of COVID-19, we recognize that the safety of the fans comes first.

In a new post on Instagram, the singer said that cancelling his concert was a difficult decision but had to be done due to the increasing cases of Corona Virus in Lagos.

The concert was meant to take place on the 28th of December at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites.
