Pandemonium In Soka As Sunday Igboho Cronies, Park Managers Clash (Video) (Photos)
Violent clash on Monday broke out between members of park managers and Sunday Adeyemon a.k.a. Sunday Igboho at Soka area, Ibadan.
According to PMS corespondent, Olanrewaju, the clash occurred in the morning when the commercial vehicle operators who were under Igboho’s captivity of illegal due collections ranging from “owo diesel” “owo eran” “owo alejo” (money fueling his home power generating set, money ram, money for visiting homage among other illicit dues) and members of PMS made attempt to collect daily statutory fees from the operators who were said to have engaged themselves in a free-for-all fight.
The cause of the crisis was traced to the era of UNION when Igboho installed one “Omo ole” as the garage chairman. The chairman’s activities coupled with excessive demands from Igboho made the association of ACOMORAN wrote to the PMS chairman to be affiliated and familiarized with the initiative of His Excellency’s PMS which is free of illegal dues and unwarranted contributions. The deflection of this ACOMORON guys did not come good before Igboho owing to the fact royalties have been blocked.
Mouthpiece NGR gathered that the crisis started when Igboho’s boys beat a park manager who was rushed to Hospital, where he was rejected on the failure to produce police report that led to the injury.
Olanrewaju said the rejection of the wounded member at the hospital, however, worsen the crisis as supporters of the victim attempted to seek revenge almost led to a full-scale crisis before the report came to Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi who ordered that no PMS or ACOMORAN guys should retaliate and promised to check on them personally after a crucial meeting.
Commercial activities in the ever busy Soka area was shut down as sporadic shots by Sunday Igboho himself not his boys this time around forced buyers and sellers to scamper for safety.
Another commercial driver, who pleaded anonymity said the fiercely looking Igboho was not ready to acknowledge the presence of men of the Nigerian Police and the directive by Auxiliary that normalcy should return.
“While shooting sporadically into the air persisted, Auxiliary left in the middle of a meeting to intervene and informed the necessary security outfits. In his remarks, Auxiliary said the current governor in the state Engr Seyi Makinde is a troubleshooters and law abiding citizen. He therefore said he would continue to follow suit of this gentleman-like behaviour. He therefore cautioned anyone who foments would not go unpunished.
