Oyo state road transport management agency ( OYRTMA) were at this morning at new gagrage motor park to restore normalcy to the park which has become a dumping ground for abandon vehicles and hideout for miscreants, Mouthpiece NGR reports.
The master plan of the motor park which was originally designed to serve as one of the four central motor park for intercity busses and cars plying Ibadan to other destinations across the country was is being restored.
An eye witness at the scene praised Governor Seyi Makinde for having the political will to right the wrong of the past.
He added that “despite several millions of naira spent by the private investors who was commissioned by the past state government to build the edifice, Ajimobi led administration lacked the political will to mandate transport unions to make use of the facility which has resulted in loss of revenue for the state government and the investors”
Shop owners, traders and vehicle owners were seen jubilating, praising governor Seyi Makinde and OYRTMA officials for the bold action taking so sanitize the motor park.
An official of OYRTMA who spoke to Mouthpiece NGR on the condition of anonymity stated that the level of orientation and training they are currently enjoying under the executive chairman of OYRTMA, Dr Akin Fagbemi has boosted the morale of the officials.
The agency has witnessed the complete turnaround within his short stay. Hence, members of the public should expect better service delivery from OYRTMA at all times with zero tolerance for corruption and negligence of duty, “he added.
