Day 2: Odidiomo Gifts 10 Brilliant Students N500k Each, Says He’s Contesting To Mentor Young Minds

The lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullah Stanley, popularly known as Odidiomo, has said his decision to contest for Oyo South Senatorial District is to mentor young minds.

Odidiomo, who is running on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), said his commitment to youth development remains unwavering and that he will continue to take decisions that secure the future and prosperity of students and youths.

He spoke on Wednesday on the second day of the Hon. Odidiomo Students’ Legislative Summit held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.

Odidiomo urged students not to join those who believe votes do not count, insisting that votes do count and that there is a need to change the narrative through political literacy and re-education.

According to him, political literacy is critical for students to avoid misinformation and to think more critically about how to effect positive change.

“You can never get rich working for someone, but you must know that your future is in your hands. Government can build roads and maintain them, but whether the roads last depends on the people.

“So, I refuse to accept that Nigeria is a failed country. I am running for Senator to mentor young minds. My commitment to youth development is eternal and I will continue to take decisions that will bring a future and prosperity to all students and youths,” he said.

Odidiomo, who later rewarded 10 brilliant students who were versatile on ICT drive, mobile phone operative system, and also attentive to the first day lecture on legislative training breakdown, reiterated his continuous commitment to youth development.
