Oyo Deputy Gov’s Foundation Donates N5m To KCGS

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has donated N5 million to Kishi Community Grammar School (KCGS) through his foundation in support of education development in Kishi.

Speaking on Saturday at the N250 million fundraising held to mark the school’s 50th anniversary at the school playground, the Deputy Governor noted that since its establishment, the school has produced engineers, professors, politicians, doctors, among others, adding that alumni remain the first line of support for the development of their alma mater.

Barr. Lawal, who said he runs a foundation that has supported his Alma mater, Irepo Grammar School, in all ramifications, disclosed that the Bayo Lawal Endowment Foundation has been rendering assistance to orphanage homes and running charity initiatives even before he became deputy governor.

While announcing a cash donation of N5 million to KCGS, he commended the alumni body for their contributions to the school’s development and urged them not to relent in efforts to uplift the institution.

The deputy governor, who was accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal, urged the school’s committee to deploy the funds for a legacy project that will be remembered.

He also disclosed that an army battalion base has been installed in Kishi community, while reiterating his commitment to the community’s development.

The event attracted several dignitaries, including the House of Representatives member representing Oorelope/Irepo/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, Hon. Muhammed Olaide Polam, candidates of several political parties and other government officials.

It also recorded huge financial donations and other items for the school’s development.

On the Deputy Governor’s entourage were the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Prof. Soliu Adelabu, Yeye Adenike Aderibigbe and other government officials.
