Royal Colony Estate to Create 500 Direct, 1,500 Indirect Jobs in Oyo — MD
The proposed Royal Colony Phase One residential estate in Oyo Town is expected to create about 500 direct jobs and 1,500 indirect employment opportunities upon commencement of construction, the Managing Director of Ocean Track Holdings Limited, Kolade Afeez Oladigbolu, has said.
Oladigbolu disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Ibadan following the successful agreement between the Oyo State Housing Corporation and Ocean Track Holdings Limited for the development of the estate, which is projected to comprise 300 housing units.
According to him, the project is designed to introduce modern and standard residential living to Oyo Town while contributing to the economic development of the area through job creation and increased commercial activities.
He described Oyo Town as an ancient community with a rich cultural heritage that deserves modern residential infrastructure capable of meeting contemporary housing needs.
“The Royal Colony Phase One is designed to place Oyo Town in a competitive position in terms of standard and quality of living. Oyo is an ancient town, rich in culture and history, and deserves a well-planned gated estate where residents can enjoy comfort, security and modern facilities,” Oladigbolu said.
He explained that the project, located at Owinni in Atiba Local Government Area and facing the Sabo-Ijawaya Expressway, would combine modern infrastructure with a serene natural environment.
Oladigbolu said the estate would provide residents with a secure and comfortable environment, adding that the development was conceived as a residential community where modern technology and the natural environment would complement each other.
The Royal Colony Phase One is expected to feature a good road network, round-the-clock security, functional drainage systems, potable water supply, electricity, landscaped surroundings and a family entertainment centre.
The developer said the project would also provide an attractive residential option for families, professionals and investors seeking a well-planned housing community in Oyo Town.
He added that the development would further contribute to the growth and attractiveness of Oyo Town by providing modern housing infrastructure while creating employment opportunities for residents and supporting businesses across the construction and service sectors.
