Oyo Monarchs, LG Chairmen Laud Makinde Over Completed Inner Roads
Traditional rulers, local government chairmen and residents of Oyo East and Oyo West LGAs have commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his administration’s sustained investment in road infrastructure.
The commendation came during an inspection of newly completed and ongoing road projects across the two councils on Tuesday.
The tour was led by the Executive Chairman of Oyo East LGA, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, and his Oyo West counterpart, Prince Akeem Babatunde Olukitibi.
They were joined by several traditional rulers including the Oloodu of Ojongbodu, Oba Olaniyi Adegboye; Onisamu of Samu, Oba Lamidi Oyewale; Alajagba of Oyo, Oba Samuel Odurinde; Ona-Isokun of Oyo; Elepe of Iseke, Oba Abel Olufemi Oyekan; Onimileke of Imileke, Oba Fakayode Alowonle; Alaaguo of Aguoland, Oba David Oyediran; Onigbudugbu of Gbudugbu, Oba Salawu Oyeniran; and Alapa-Ara of Apa-Ara, Oba Tijani Ajeigbe.
The delegation inspected the newly asphalted road linking Iseke, Ladindin, Ojongbodu and Isokun. The project spans 4 kilometres, with 3.2 kilometres completed in Oyo East and 0.8 kilometres remaining in Oyo West.
Speaking after the inspection, the Executive Chairman of Oyo West LGA, Prince Akeem Olukitibi, praised Governor Makinde for prioritising road infrastructure, noting that the interventions have improved transportation, accessibility and economic activities.
He also acknowledged the contributions of Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, describing her support as instrumental to the approval and execution of the projects.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Oyo East LGA, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for projects delivered in the council.
He listed the Apaara–Oke Apo Road, Molaba–Balogun Road, Olugbon–Mobolaje Road, Oba Adeyemi Road, Ajagba–Ogeese Road and Kosobo–Toaf Road, noting that they have improved connectivity, commerce and socio-economic development.
Oluokun also commended Senator Sunmonu for her support towards the successful delivery of the projects.

Speaking for the traditional rulers, the Onisamu of Samu, Oba Lamidi Oyeniyi, described Governor Makinde as a visionary and people-centred leader whose administration has transformed communities through strategic infrastructure.
The Elepe of Iseke and the Alaaguo of Aguo expressed satisfaction with the quality of the completed roads, saying the projects would ease movement, promote trade and accelerate economic growth.
Project Engineer, Engr. Adewara Muyiwa of Quickborn Nigeria Limited, disclosed that work has progressed according to schedule. He confirmed completion of a total 5.2-kilometre project: 1.2 kilometres in Oyo West and 4 kilometres in Oyo East, and assured that the remaining section would be completed to specification.
Community leaders and residents also expressed gratitude to the state government.
Speaking for Oke Apo community, the Mufasir of Oke Apo offered prayers for Governor Makinde, asking Allah to grant him wisdom, strength and good health to sustain developmental projects.
The inspection ended with residents applauding the Makinde administration’s commitment to quality infrastructure and sustainable development across Oyo State.
