Ogbomoso North LG Holds Peace and Security Committee Meeting, Empowers Security Agencies
The Ogbomoso North Local Government on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, held its Peace and Security Committee Meeting, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property within the local government area.
The meeting was convened by the Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, and brought together heads of various security agencies operating within the council.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by his Media Aide, Comr. Alade Toheeb, the meeting was aimed at reviewing the current security situation in Ogbomoso North and strengthening collaboration among all security stakeholders to ensure sustained peace and stability.
While addressing the gathering, Hon. Ogunlade commended the security agencies and vigilante groups for their dedication, resilience, and relentless efforts in maintaining peace and order across the local government. He described their sacrifices as critical to the progress, safety, and development of Ogbomoso North.
The Chairman also expressed his appreciation to the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA) and other stakeholders for their continuous support and cooperation, stressing that effective governance thrives on teamwork and shared responsibility.
As part of his administration’s commitment to strengthening security operations, Hon. Ogunlade empowered security operatives with operational tools. Three motorcycles were presented to enhance patrol and response capabilities within the local government. In addition, high-quality touch lights were distributed to vigilante members to improve night surveillance. The Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS) also benefited from the provision of motorcycles to boost their operational efficiency.
In his remarks to the security chiefs, the Chairman urged them to remain committed, professional, and proactive in the discharge of their duties. He assured them of his administration’s continued support and prioritization of security as a foundation for peace and sustainable development.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitments from all security agencies and stakeholders to sustain peace and work collaboratively toward the overall development of Ogbomoso North Local Government.
