Okanlomo Oodua Calls for Door-to-Door Mobilisation Ahead of Elections

The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has called on members of the JDS Support Groups and his over one million followers across Nigeria to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement personally signed by him and made available through his media team, Chief Sanusi urged all support groups to redirect their energy towards voter registration, PVC collection and active participation in the democratic process.

He charged the groups to commence structured door-to-door campaigns to canvass support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, Senator Sharafadeen Alli’s gubernatorial ambition in Oyo State, and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the strength of any political movement lies not merely in its numerical strength but in its ability to translate popular support into legitimate votes at the ballot box.

He called on coordinators and members of the various JDS Support Groups to take the message to their respective communities, wards and local governments, encouraging eligible voters to obtain their PVCs and participate actively in the electoral process.

Chief Sanusi also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a transparent, credible and inclusive electoral process, while urging security agencies to maintain professionalism, protect voters and guarantee the safety of citizens before, during and after the elections.

He reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development, community engagement, youth empowerment and people-oriented initiatives, stressing that sustainable political progress must be driven by the collective aspirations of the people.

“The time for grassroots political engagement is now. Members must remain organised, peaceful and committed to democratic participation, ensuring that every eligible supporter is prepared to exercise their civic responsibility in 2027.

Get your PVC, engage your communities, take the message door to door and get ready to vote. Our collective strength must be demonstrated through active participation in the democratic process,” he said.
