Oyero Tasks Adekanmbi, Open Salawu on Human Capital Development

The former President of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Bayo Oyero, has urged the Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Bimbo Adekanmbi, and his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, to prioritise human capital development if elected governor and deputy governor in 2027.

Oyero made the appeal during the commissioning of the Bayo Oyero Ultra-Modern Market, constructed by the Ibadan North-East Local Government under the chairmanship of Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo.

He charged the APM candidates to place greater emphasis on investments in people, noting that human capital development remains critical to sustainable economic growth and meaningful development.

In his remarks at the event, Adekanmbi commended Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as innovative approaches to project delivery and infrastructure development across Oyo State.

He said the newly commissioned Bayo Oyero Ultra-Modern Market would contribute significantly to economic activities in Ibadan North-East Local Government by providing an improved trading environment for traders and stimulating commercial growth.

The APM governorship candidate also applauded the council chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, for initiating and completing the market project, describing the intervention as a demonstration of the importance of grassroots development and responsive leadership.

Adekanmbi further emphasised the need for government at all levels to create an enabling environment for businesses, strengthen local economic activities and improve the living standards of residents.

The commissioning of the market is expected to provide additional commercial opportunities for traders and residents while contributing to the economic development of the local government area.
