NSCDC Commends Ogbomoso North LGA Chairman for Exceptional Cooperation
Ogbomoso North Local Government Area once again took center stage last week as its Executive Chairman, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, hosted the Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Augustine Padonu, in what became a significant moment for local governance and security collaboration.
The meeting, held at the Ogbomoso North Local Government Secretariat Kinnira, symbolized more than just an official courtesy call as it showcased a deepening partnership aimed at enhancing the council’s security framework and sustaining the peace it has become known for.
During the visit, Commandant Padonu commended Hon. George for his outstanding cooperation with security agencies across the local government. He emphasized that the relative calm and safety experienced in Ogbomoso North were clear reflections of the council chairman’s proactive and people-centered leadership.
According to Padonu, “Leadership that values security collaboration lays the foundation for community progress. What we see in Ogbomoso North today is the result of consistent partnership and mutual respect between the government and security agencies.”
The Commandant, who has been touring NSCDC divisions across Oyo State, however reiterated his call for officers to remain professional, diligent, and committed to teamwork.
He equally encouraged them to continue working hand in hand with sister agencies to ensure a safer environment for residents across the state.
In their goodwill messages, leaders from different security agencies took turns appreciating Hon. George Ogunlade for his unwavering support and cooperation. They described his commitment as not just beneficial to Ogbomoso North, but also as a strong complement to the broader security vision of His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State.
They noted that Ogunlade’s dedication to safety initiatives has made Ogbomoso North a model of effective local governance where collaboration between the government and security agencies translates directly into community stability and trust.
However, in his welcome address, Hon. George reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to supporting security institutions.
He stressed that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and order, adding that his government remains fully aligned with Governor Makinde’s agenda of maintaining a secure, progressive Oyo State.
He said: “Security is a shared responsibility. When our people feel safe, they can build businesses, nurture families, and dream freely. That’s the kind of environment we are determined to sustain in Ogbomoso North.”
